Ospreys are known for their impressive nesting behaviours and their dedication to raising their young.
Ospreys typically lay one to four eggs per year, with two to three eggs being the most common. The eggs are incubated for approximately 35 to 40 days, with both parents taking turns to keep them warm. When Osprey chicks hatch, they are small, fluffy, and completely helpless. They are dependent on their parents for food, warmth, and protection. Both male and female Ospreys play an active role in caring for their young. They take turns hunting for fish, feeding the chicks, and keeping the nest clean and safe.
Osprey chicks grow at an astonishing rate, with some chicks doubling their body weight in just a week. As they grow, they become more active and curious, and will often flap their wings and explore their surroundings.  Osprey chicks fledge at around 8-10 weeks old: After about 8 to 10 weeks, Osprey chicks are ready to leave the nest and begin flying. They will spend several more weeks under the watchful eye of their parents, learning to hunt and survive on their own.
