Ospreys are uniquely adapted for fishing. They have a reversible outer toe that can grasp prey with two toes in front and two in back, as well as a spiny pad on the sole of their feet that helps them grip slippery fish. They can also close their nostrils to keep water out when they dive into the water to catch fish.
